Some IT support roles keep you in support. This one gives you a chance to get much closer to the broader technology environment.

I’m working with a fast-growing investment firm in Midtown Manhattan that is adding to its IT team.

The role is hands-on and user-facing, but the environment is much broader than traditional desktop support. You’ll work with business-critical applications, internally developed trading applications, hardware, mobile devices, conference room technology and a full cloud environment built around Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra.

What I like about the opportunity is the exposure.

You’ll work closely with both the Infrastructure Manager and Applications Engineering Manager, with opportunities to get involved in projects across infrastructure, cloud, applications and other areas of the environment.

The firm has around 175 employees today and is looking to add roughly 60 more as it continues to grow.

The manager gives people room to do their jobs, stays calm when things get busy and genuinely wants people on his team to develop. You’ll have support when you need it without being micromanaged.

For someone who enjoys support but doesn’t want their career limited to it, this is a really interesting opportunity.
