A lot of Technical Support roles say they are “hands-on” or “project driven.” Most of the time that just means more tickets.


This one is actually different.


A hedge fund in Manhattan with about 200 employees is adding a Technical Support Engineer to their team of five. Leadership is highly technical and closely involved with how the environment runs.


Because the team is lean, the role goes well beyond day-to-day support. The team spends a lot of time improving things. Workflows, tools, and the overall user environment are constantly being refined.


You will still support a demanding user base, but you will also be in a place where technology matters and where the support function is taken seriously.


If you like being in environments where things move quickly and you can actually make improvements, this tends to be the kind of role people enjoy.
